About the role#
As a Construction Intern, you will support the Construction Manager in coordinating on-site activities for assigned subdivisions. This role involves learning the various phases of the home building process through direct participation. You will help monitor construction progress, ensure quality standards are met, and assist with general labor tasks to maintain site readiness.
What you'll do#
- Inspect assigned homes to monitor workflow, quality, and project completion.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and track the delivery of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Act as a liaison between construction management and subcontractors to report issues or progress updates.
- Perform minor repairs, such as paint touch-ups, caulking, trim work, and small installations.
- Assist in resolving customer service issues to maintain satisfaction.
- Meet with inspectors and conduct walk-throughs with homeowners.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and cleaning homes.
- Perform administrative tasks using Build Pro, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Manage site access by locking and unlocking homes.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Construction Management.
- Understanding of the home building industry, including building codes and construction processes.
- Practical knowledge of carpentry and the use of hand and power tools.
- Technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service focus.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple activities at once.
- Valid driver’s license.

- This role is based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
