Construction Intern

About the role#

The Construction Intern supports the Construction Manager in coordinating on-site activities across assigned subdivisions. This role provides hands-on experience in the home-building process, focusing on quality control, subcontractor coordination, and site management. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.

What you'll do#

• Inspect homes at various construction phases to monitor workflow and quality.
• Schedule subcontractors and coordinate the delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Serve as a liaison between subcontractors and management, reporting on progress and addressing issues.
• Perform minor repairs, such as paint touch-ups, caulking, and minor installations, ahead of pre-settlement inspections.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by managing debris removal.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including computer work in Microsoft Office and Build Pro, meeting with inspectors, and conducting homeowner walk-throughs.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Associates degree in Construction Management or related fields such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Real Estate, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Human Resources.
• Understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
• Ability to read blueprints and proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Strong customer-service orientation with effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Work Modality: On-site.
• This position requires a valid driver's license and travel. Candidates should be prepared for exposure to various environmental conditions and site-specific health and safety risks.
