About the role#
Operations student workers support the daily function and appearance of the Luther Seminary campus. You will join either the Service Desk or Maintenance team to help create a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. This role requires a professional demeanor and the ability to handle both administrative tasks and physical maintenance duties.
What you'll do#
As part of the Service Desk team, you will act as a primary point of contact and provide hospitality. Your duties include:
- Answering phones and responding to email inquiries.
- Greeting campus visitors and assisting with building access.
- Checking the Info email hourly and managing incoming packages.
- Conducting facility rounds and reporting issues to Operations, Facilities, or IT.
- Supporting campus events through setup, tear-down, and coffee service.
As part of the Maintenance team, you will focus on the upkeep of the campus environment. Your duties include:
- Performing custodial tasks like cleaning, trash removal, and deep cleaning of restrooms or flooring.
- Managing mail and stocking supplies in the Campus Supply Center.
- Assisting with grounds maintenance, including mowing, leaf removal, and snow clearing.
- Helping with manual labor such as demolition, moving materials, and painting projects.
- Arranging furniture and equipment for special events.
What you'll need#

- The ability to protect confidential information.
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Punctuality and a commitment to a regular work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: 15.97 USD per hour.
- Schedule: Rolling term, requires commitment to a regular semester schedule.
