About the role#
The Software Engineer Summer Internship provides an opportunity to join the Post Trade Solutions engineering team. You will work on real-world projects within the Optimisation Core Technology Team. This role involves designing and building systems that allow financial market participants to securely provide risk and trade data, deliver that data to optimisation services, and return computational results to participants. You will work as part of a team of 5-10 engineers to research and build improvements to applications and the cloud-based environment.
What you'll do#
- Design and build workflows to run data quality checks on financial data.
- Collaborate with the Analytics team to leverage pricing algorithms.
- Build internal portal screens for the Product team.
- Implement code for connectivity to external booking systems and trade stores.
- Enhance task queueing systems to improve resource utilisation.
- Provide feedback to clients on results and parameter modification.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the penultimate or final year of an undergraduate degree with plans to continue to a Masters for the 2027/28 academic year.
- Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- Solid understanding of Python for executable and repeatable programs.
- Familiarity with the PyData stack, UNIX command line, and AWS.
- Experience with frontend development.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Curiosity for data and an ability to analyze information to propose solutions.
- Right to work in New York City without restrictions for the duration of the programme.
