About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern on the Data Pipeline Engineering (DPE) team, you will contribute to systems that manage and process data for Cboe North American trading exchanges. This team handles high-volume batch and streaming systems, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of trade clearing, reporting, and business automation. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience in a production environment.
What you'll do#
- Manage, reconcile, and process data across all Cboe North American trading exchange environments.
- Develop and support exchange-integrated back-office processing, including trade clearing, customer reporting, and billing.
- Build your local development environment and learn software engineering best practices used at Cboe.
- Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of at least one project, with support from senior mentors, to be installed in production.
- Contribute to systems resiliency, maintainability, scalability, and performance improvements as assigned by your manager.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field.
- Graduation date scheduled for after December 2027.
- Solid knowledge of software engineering data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with Python, or experience in another programming language with a strong desire to learn Python.
- Proficiency with Linux or UNIX-like systems and at least one scripting language.
- A self-directed and self-motivated approach to work.
