About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern on the Cboe web team, you will work on applications intended for production use. You will collaborate with stakeholders to design and build solutions for actual business problems, taking your project from initial design through to final deployment. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Join a Scrum team dedicated to your specific summer project.
- Attend all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, weekly reviews, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
- Partner with business owners and the Cboe UX team to iterate on design proposals.
- Implement solutions using Cboe web technologies.
- Collaborate with fellow interns and mentors on code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Write comprehensive tests to ensure application functionality.
- Review your work with business owners and end users to incorporate feedback.
- Deliver your final product to business owners with a production deployment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
- Must not be scheduled to graduate before December 2027.
- Interest in developing and deploying high-performance, data-driven websites.
- Experience with MVC web frameworks and JavaScript.
- Experience with Python, or experience in another language with a strong desire to learn Python.
- Familiarity with modern web standards, including HTML5 and CSS3.
- Experience with Linux or UNIX-like systems is preferred.
- Experience with Apache, PostgreSQL, or ReactJS is a plus.
- Familiarity with Python unit testing and full-stack web testing is beneficial.
- Experience with the Django web framework is a plus.
