About the role#
This summer internship provides students with professional experience within the accounting department at Love's Travel Stops. Interns assist with day-to-day accounting functions for the company and its affiliates while gaining exposure to multiple business operations. The program includes mentorship, performance feedback, and opportunities to engage with company leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist the accounting department with daily functions.
- Create basic journal entries for monthly close, including recurring entries and accruals.
- Perform month end close duties to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Create, update, and distribute financial reports and workpapers.
- Learn to use SAP and other internal software platforms.
- Gain an understanding of company entities and their purposes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year university program (sophomore level or above) pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 3.25 GPA.
- Completion of Accounting I and II coursework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Previous internship experience is a plus but not required.
