About the role#
As a Data Scientist intern at Loop, you will work on real business problems across our fintech platform. You will use data to uncover insights, improve processes, and build tools that help our teams move faster. This role involves collaborating with engineering, product, finance, growth, and operations on strategic initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Analyze customer, product, financial, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Build dashboards and reports that help teams monitor KPIs and make better decisions.
- Assist with building predictive models to support business initiatives.
- Identify repetitive manual processes that could be automated using data.
- Investigate business questions using SQL, Python, and spreadsheets.
- Present findings in a clear and actionable way to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support experimentation by measuring outcomes and providing recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in working with data using SQL and Python.
- Experience with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI is an asset.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position located in downtown Toronto, Ontario.
- We are hiring for the Fall 2026 (September-December) and Winter 2027 (January-April) terms.
