About the role#
As a Skunkwerks Engineering Intern, you will work directly with our engineering team to design, build, test, and improve rotary engine hardware. You will move between CAD design, prototype assembly, and data analysis based on the needs of our current projects. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to adapt to new engineering challenges as testing reveals them.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and development of rotary engine components and subsystems.
- Create and modify CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Assist with prototype builds, engine assembly, and component integration.
- Analyze test data to inform design changes.
- Work with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot hardware and identify root causes.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Completed coursework in mechanics, thermodynamics, materials, machine design, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer.
- Experience with or coursework in 3D CAD, with a preference for SolidWorks.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- You must be a U.S. Person to meet ITAR requirements.
