About the role#
This is a Radiology Extern position at UP Health System Marquette. You will work in a clinical environment under the supervision of imaging technologists to gain hands-on experience in diagnostic imaging.
What you'll do#
- Operate stationary and portable diagnostic imaging equipment with guidance from an imaging technologist.
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations under direct or indirect supervision.
- Process images and evaluate them for technical quality.
- Notify appropriate personnel when follow-up is required.
- Assist with general staff functions, including patient registration, office duties, filing, and transporting patients.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine program, or an accredited diagnostic medical sonographer program is preferred.
- ARRT registry, Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification, or Registered in Diagnostic Ultrasound (RDMS) status are preferred.
