About the role#
This internship offers a hands-on experience in restaurant operations and culinary arts. The program runs from May 25 through August 4, 2027. You will work in an hourly role such as a host, server, runner, busser, or cook. The position is paid and requires full-time availability. You must arrange your own housing and transportation.
What you'll do#
- Perform essential functions in your assigned hourly role.
- Participate in weekly seminars, management checklists, and feedback sessions.
- Work summer festivals, including the Windy City Smokeout.
- Complete a restaurant concept project and present it at the Intern Expo.
- Greet guests and ensure their experience meets high standards.
- Safely operate all necessary kitchen and restaurant equipment.
- Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
What you'll need#
- One year of practical experience or current enrollment in a culinary program.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for an entire shift.
- Ability to work in confined, crowded, and noisy spaces.
- Experience with Italian or French cuisine is a plus.
