About the role#
This culinary internship provides hands-on experience in a restaurant environment. You will work in an hourly role, such as a cook, while participating in a structured educational program. The internship runs from May 25, 2027, through August 4, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform the essential functions of your assigned hourly role, including cooking and operating kitchen equipment.
- Complete weekly seminars, management checklists, and feedback sessions.
- Work on a restaurant concept project and participate in the Intern Expo.
- Attend group events and weekly educational meetings.
- Work summer festivals, including the Windy City Smokeout.
- Greet guests and ensure their experience meets high standards.
- Handle guest challenges with tact and good judgment.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
What you'll need#
- One year of practical experience or current enrollment in a culinary program.
- Experience with Italian or French cuisine is a plus.
