About the role#
This culinary externship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience within a Lettuce Entertain You kitchen. Externs are placed in a restaurant concept and an hourly role that aligns with their current skill level. This is a paid position lasting 10 to 16 weeks, with potential extensions determined by the Chef and General Manager.
What you'll do#
- Perform essential functions and responsibilities for your assigned role, such as cook, runner, busser, server, or host.
- Safely operate all necessary kitchen tools and equipment.
- Work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Communicate effectively to follow written and spoken instructions.
- Multitask calmly in a busy environment.
- Work in confined spaces with variable noise, light, and temperature levels.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds, and stand or move safely throughout the restaurant for an entire shift.
What you'll need#
- One full year of practical experience OR current enrollment in a culinary program.
- Experience with French or Italian cuisine is a plus.

- Compensation: $17.05 to $20.00 per hour.
- Term: Rolling, 10-16 weeks.
- Note: Externs are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
