About the role#
This Culinary BOH Internship Level 1 is a 10-week summer program running from May 25 through August 4, 2027. You will work in an hourly role at a restaurant location while participating in a structured educational program. This position requires you to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Perform essential functions for your assigned hourly role, including the safe operation of all kitchen tools and equipment.
- Attend weekly seminars covering restaurant financials, menu creation, and marketing.
- Complete management checklists, feedback sessions, and a restaurant concept project.
- Participate in group events and the final Intern Expo.
- Work summer festivals as required.
- Maintain high standards for the guest experience by greeting customers and handling challenges with good judgment.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies.
- Multitask in a busy environment while acting as a team player.
What you'll need#
- At least 1 year of practical experience or current enrollment in a culinary program.
- Experience with Italian or French cuisine is a plus.
- Ability to stand for an entire shift and move safely through the restaurant.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Strong communication skills to follow written and spoken directions.
