About the role#
Legence is seeking a Mechanical Engineering student for a Summer 2027 internship and co-op position. This role focuses on Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts. You will work alongside professional engineers and designers on projects ranging from initial development to implementation. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience with systems like HVAC, geothermal, LED lighting, and building automation.
What you'll do#
- Support project development through site visits, building audits, and energy calculations.
- Build energy models to test the feasibility of energy savings measures.
- Create detailed construction documents using CAD.
- Gather and analyze energy data, which includes field verification.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop all aspects of building engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.39.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- The ability to travel locally for field work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- This is an on-site position based in Golden, Colorado.
- The role is full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
- This position is paid.
