About the role#
As an automation intern at LAPORTE, you will join multidisciplinary teams working on projects for the food and pharmaceutical sectors. You will contribute to various stages of engineering projects while working alongside different engineering disciplines, clients, and manufacturers.
What you'll do#
- Program PLCs and user interfaces.
- Prepare functional specifications, project plans, and technical drawings.
- Select equipment and estimate project costs.
- Provide technical support during commissioning.
- Execute validation tests.
- Write assembly and operation instructions.
- Program simulators for testing purposes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Automated Production Engineering (GPA), or a related field.
- Previous experience in industrial automation.
- Strong communication skills, organizational habits, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of the Rockwell suite is an asset.
- Experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
