About the role#
This is a full-time, paid software engineering internship based in Palm Bay, Florida. You will work on-site as part of a team developing software for tactical radio equipment. The schedule follows a 9/80 format, meaning you work 80 hours over nine days and have every other Friday off.
What you'll do#
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to software development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to design and evaluate hardware and software interfaces.
- Support the full software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
- Write software test procedures and documentation.
- Use modeling tools to collect data, run experimental tests, and evaluate the results.
- Participate in peer reviews and track software defects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts and Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience with software languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, or XML.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and mobile platforms.
- Experience with embedded real-time operating systems like VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, or Windows CE.
