About the role#
L3Harris Technologies is hiring an intern for an FPGA engineering role in Palm Bay, Florida. You will work alongside senior engineers to learn how to design and code high speed FPGA logic. This position covers the full product development life cycle, from initial design concepts to bench-level system integration.
What you'll do#
- Generate design concepts and architectures to meet performance requirements.
- Design sub-systems and modules with a focus on digital circuits and FPGA code.
- Write and integrate VHDL across various FPGA families.
- Run simulations to verify performance and test FPGAs on circuit card assemblies.
- Support system integration with hardware, software, and other FPGA designs.
- Assist with qualification and production testing or troubleshooting fielded products.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience coding in VHDL.
- Experience modeling algorithms and integrating multiple FPGA-based modules.
- Coursework in digital logic and reconfigurable logic design.
- Familiarity with FPGA design tools for Altera or AMD (Xilinx).
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship located in Palm Bay, Florida.
- The schedule follows a 9/80 format, where you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off.
