About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in providing exceptional service to our customers. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of medications while helping maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role is part-time and requires an on-site presence.
What you'll do#
- Welcome customers and answer questions about pharmacy products and over-the-counter recommendations.
- Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Dispense medications and provide drug counseling to customers.
- Administer immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Contact prescribers and insurance companies to resolve authorization issues.
- Process third-party insurance information and facilitate customer purchases.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused bottles.
- Maintain a clean department and report any safety risks or incidents to management.
- Assist diverse groups of customers, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a United States school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skill in managing conflict in a calm and professional manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding sensitive business and customer information.
- Ability to follow directions and ask for help when needed.
- Capability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
