About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in providing exceptional service to our customers. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of medications while maintaining a clean and professional department. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Erie, Colorado.
What you'll do#
- Create an outstanding customer experience by answering questions and providing helpful service.
- Assist with drug counseling and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
- Dispense medications and process third-party insurance information.
- Accept and interpret oral or written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by stocking incoming orders, checking shipments, and returning unused stock.
- Maintain a safe environment by reporting safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
- Support the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skill in managing conflict in a nonconfrontational and professional manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
- Capacity to provide support to diverse groups, including older adults, minors, and individuals with special needs.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
