About the role#
We are looking for an Electrical Engineering intern to join our Product Support team in Grain Valley. You will work alongside hardware and electrical engineers to maintain and develop safety-critical products for the railroad industry. This position provides hands-on experience in a regulated, high-reliability environment.
What you'll do#
- Test, validate, and troubleshoot electrical systems used in railroad safety-critical applications.
- Support schematic reviews, verify PCB layouts, and manage documentation according to industry safety standards.
- Perform electrical measurements using lab equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Document test procedures and results while preparing technical reports.
- Participate in design reviews and help keep the lab organized.
- Contribute to initiatives focused on product safety, reliability, and maintainability.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A basic understanding of electrical circuits, components, and safety procedures.
- An interest in working with safety-critical systems and learning about regulatory standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with lab tools and basic CAD or simulation software is helpful.
