About the role#
As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will support the manufacturing team in improving productivity, quality, and operational efficiency. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly on process analysis and continuous improvement projects within our manufacturing environment. This role reports to the Head of Industrialization.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and report production and operational data.
- Assist with time studies and workflow analysis.
- Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
- Support the development and maintenance of work instructions and process documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve Quality, Cost, and Delivery performance.
- Support capacity planning and production line optimization.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Assist with layout planning and material flow improvements.
- Support the implementation of standard work and visual management practices.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in a manufacturing environment.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Grain Valley, Missouri.
- The role follows a rolling term structure.
