About the role#
Klein Tools is hiring an Industrial Design Intern to join our team in Mansfield, Texas. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship. You will work under the supervision of the Industrial Design Manager or senior designers to support our Product Management and Engineering departments. This role offers real-world experience in the manufacturing industry, allowing you to apply your design skills to active product development projects.
What you'll do#
- Generate creative, user-centric concepts through research, sketching, and data visualization.
- Use 3D CAD and prototyping tools to support product development.
- Assist senior designers with design tasks and document project design intent.
- Collaborate with the New Product Development team.
- Identify trends and opportunities within the marketplace.
- Prioritize tasks and review project progress with your mentor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program with a focus on Industrial Design.
- Proficiency in Sketchbook Pro and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Basic experience with SolidWorks or Keyshot.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
- Ability to lift or move objects up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks like sitting, standing, and reaching.
