About the role#
As an Environmental Intern, you will support the Environmental department with regulatory research and sustainability tracking. You will work on projects across the Central District, gaining experience in heavy civil and infrastructure construction. This role requires a commitment to the construction industry and a willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
What you'll do#
- Conduct regulatory research and keep up to date with Federal environmental legislation.
- Assist with electronic solutions and data input to track company sustainability performance.
- Participate in field exercises at various project sites.
- Develop articles for company newsletters.
- Prepare and present environmental training materials.
- Assist with meeting minutes for conference calls and training sessions.
- Conduct vendor reviews and inventory Greenhouse Gases.
- Support the department with additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in environmental science, environmental compliance, or engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to travel as business requires.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours during the summer and 5-20 hours during the school year.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
- Locations include Lone Tree, Colorado, and Denver, Colorado, with travel to various project sites as required.
