About the role#
We are looking for a Field Safety Intern to join our team in Columbia. This position offers hands-on experience in the construction industry while you balance your academic commitments. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support our projects and safety goals.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with project teams to plan, execute, and manage health and safety on construction sites.
- Spend time on-site to observe and participate in construction activities to gain practical knowledge.
- Assist with project documentation including reports, plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Learn about construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and field staff to meet project goals.
- Help troubleshoot and find solutions to construction-related challenges.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant degree program or technical school, such as Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
- Strong academic performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
- A basic understanding of construction principles is helpful but not required.
