About the role#
Kiewit Architecture and Engineering is looking for an Architectural Intern to join our team in Lenexa, Kansas, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within a project team to oversee building architectural design, contribute to project success, and help improve our internal design standards and tools.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing architectural design standards and procedures.
- Prepare basic life safety analysis and code-required calculations.
- Review codes required for project design.
- Prepare architectural construction documentation, including drawings and sketches.
- Review RFP materials for potential projects to document needs and exceptions.
- Coordinate with the estimating team to develop conceptual plans, elevations, and schedules.
- Communicate with other disciplines to resolve design interfacing issues.
- Use Revit to develop design documents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a NAAB accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Architecture.
- A GPA above 3.0 is preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.
- Experience with Navisworks is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to solve problems independently.
- Ability to work productively, meet deadlines, and interact professionally with team members.
- Commitment to regular, reliable attendance and working safely.
- Ability to work during normal operating hours, with the potential for overtime and weekend work as required.
