About the role#
This internship program offers hands-on experience in construction operations and field operations. You will work directly with established project teams in Los Angeles. This role provides an introduction to the industry and offers advance consideration for the Shawmut CMST program after graduation.
What you'll do#
Your specific responsibilities depend on business needs and your placement in Project Management, Estimating, or Field work.
- Project Management: Manage submittals and RFIs, track procurement and change order documentation, and assist in project close-out.
- Estimating: Develop estimates and budgets, work with subcontractors to ensure pricing and coverage, assist in scope writing, and attend bid reviews.
- Field: Work with a seasoned Superintendent on job sites, manage daily reports, monitor and enforce site safety protocols, and coordinate punch list activities.
What you'll need#
- You must be a rising Junior or Senior student.
- You should be working toward a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- You must be eligible to work in the United States, as we cannot offer sponsorship.

- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time position.
- Pay: $22-25 per hour.
