About the role#
As a Production Supervision Student, you will work closely with supervisors and production teams to gain exposure to the various aspects of manufacturing operations management. You will contribute to daily production activities, monitor performance indicators, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This experience allows you to develop leadership, problem-solving, and operations management skills. We have five internship positions available across various shifts, including a floating role that requires flexibility.
What you'll do#
- Support supervisors in coordinating daily production activities and monitoring schedules.
- Track production indicators to identify variances and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in projects focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with production employees and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Update procedures, work tools, and training materials.
- Analyze operational issues and propose solutions with team guidance.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment that complies with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Prepare and update reports related to production activities.
- Develop a practical understanding of managing a team in a manufacturing environment.
- Report any situations that could affect product safety or quality to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business administration, or a similar field in progress or completed.
- Full-time availability (40 hours per week) from late April through late August.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and genuine care for team members.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks to meet business needs.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Skill in building effective relationships through diplomacy, tact, and fair treatment.
Location & details#
- Location: 8300 19th Avenue, Montreal, QC.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $33.40 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Shift Options: 4x10 Day (Mon-Thu), 4x10 Evening (Mon-Thu), 3x12 Day (Fri-Sun), 3x12 Night (Fri-Sun), or a Floating position.
