About the role#
This is a full-time, one-year co-op assignment running from January 2027 through December 2027. You will support the Steering and Driveline Segment organization by assisting with quotation, cost planning, and cost control activities. You will work in a participative management environment and may lead or assist with special projects related to benchmarking and cost reduction.
What you'll do#
- Support Product Managers and Cost Analysts with RFQ processes, cost plans, and cost control.
- Create, manage, and update Should Be Cost Models and Cost Databases for components and processes.
- Review technical drawings and develop cost drivers and calculations using analytical tools.
- Develop cost tables and validate data integrity for quote estimating.
- Lead or support departmental projects focused on benchmarking and quoting.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
- Strong PC skills, specifically with Excel, Word, and Access.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated mindset and strong analytical skills.
- Interest in automobiles or experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Location & details#
- Locations: Vonore, TN and Morristown, TN.
- Modality: On-site.
- Travel: Approximately 10-20% of the time, including travel by automobile and plane.
- Environment: Primarily an office setting with occasional time in manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment.
