About the role#
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern supports the Engineering supervisor on projects focused on process improvement and implementation. You will work with various teams across the organization, including production, maintenance, and management, to solve manufacturing problems. At the end of your assignment, you will present your project results to the leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop tooling, mechanisms, and equipment for metalworking processes.
- Provide engineering support for scrap reduction, machine builds, and quality improvements.
- Use Lean tools to drive productivity.
- Create and modify database records.
- Support 5-S, Kaizen, and ISO certification efforts throughout the plant.
- Work closely with technicians, machine shop staff, and production departments.
- Be available for daily overtime and weekend work when directed.
What you'll need#
- Current college student or recent graduate in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Creo and AutoCAD.
- Ability to apply engineering theories to practical manufacturing situations.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Business awareness and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Cairo, Georgia.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
- Work is performed in an office setting with time spent in manufacturing areas that require personal protective equipment like safety glasses and hearing protection.
