About the role#
The Engineering Intern works directly with the Engineering supervisor on special projects focused on process improvement and implementation. You will interact with associates across the organization, from management to production and maintenance teams. At the end of your assignment, you will present your project results to the Cairo leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Support engineers in solving manufacturing problems for new and existing products.
- Design and develop tooling, mechanisms, and equipment for metalworking processes.
- Provide engineering support for scrap reduction, productivity, and quality improvements using Lean tools.
- Create and modify database records.
- Support 5-S, Kaizen, and Koyo Production Systems, along with TS16949 and ISO14000 efforts.
- Work with management, technicians, and factory service associates.
- Work daily overtime, Saturdays, or Sundays when directed by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current college student or recent graduate in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Creo and AutoCAD.
- Ability to apply engineering theories to practical manufacturing situations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing procedures and systems.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship located in Cairo, Georgia.
- The role involves time in an office setting and time in manufacturing areas where safety glasses and hearing protection are required.
