About the role#
As a TSMS Student Employee, you will provide technical assistance within the Information Technology division at Joliet Junior College. This part-time position is designed to work around your class schedule. You will support daily IT operations, including hardware maintenance and user support.
What you'll do#
- Answer phones and log issues into the IT ticket system.
- Help users resolve software and hardware problems.
- Install, maintain, and replace computer equipment and multimedia systems.
- Clean and sanitize college-owned technology equipment.
- Support live events, webinars, and video conferencing.
- Manage the daily reservation, distribution, and setup of equipment.
- Handle general office tasks, including data entry and inventory management.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment at JJC in at least 6 credit hours during the fall or spring semester.
- A GPA of 2.0 or above.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with additional proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work well with others while displaying cultural competence and emotional intelligence.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Some recent work experience and knowledge of AV or Service Desk best practices is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is located on-site at the Joliet Junior College main campus in Joliet, Illinois.
- This is a part-time position with a rolling term.
- You may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, and up to 28 hours per week during breaks with supervisor approval.
