About the role#
Joliet Junior College is hiring a student employee to assist with greenhouse and outdoor land lab operations. This part-time position supports the Agriculture and Horticulture department and requires a flexible schedule.
What you'll do#
- Manage irrigation for greenhouses and gardens, including weekend shifts.
- Transplant and propagate various collections and crops.
- Handle plant sales, manage money, and assist customers.
- Maintain grounds through weeding, cleaning, mulching, and installations.
- Track records for crops, deliveries, and chemical applications.
- Complete deliveries and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at JJC in at least 6 credit hours during the fall or spring semester.
- A GPA of 2.0 or above.
- Enrollment in a Horticulture degree program.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- Comfort working in environments with varying temperatures, humidity, and outdoor conditions.

- Position is located on the Main Campus in Joliet, Illinois.
- This is a paid, part-time student employee role.
- Work hours are scheduled around your classes, typically up to 20 hours per week during the semester.
