About the role#
This laboratory-based Co-Op position joins the Analytical Characterization group within the research and development organization at Ethicon Inc. You will work alongside lab scientists to support new product development and life-cycle management. This role is based in Raritan, New Jersey, for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Perform hands-on experiments focused on polymer characterization and wet chemistry.
- Prepare samples, conduct testing, collect data, and maintain detailed records in lab notebooks.
- Manage samples and perform data curation, including logging samples submitted from the stability group.
- Participate in New Product Development project teams and interact with cross-functional R&D associates.
- Execute methods and procedures to support analytical reporting and product development goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in basic chemistry lab skills.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site.
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
