About the role#
Extreme Engineering Solutions is looking for a Co-Op student to join the Technology Development team in Verona, Wisconsin. You will work on the materials foundation for rugged single board computers used in military, aerospace, and industrial environments. This is a full-time, on-site position. We are looking for students available for a Winter/Summer 2027 term or a Summer/Fall 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Characterize, select, and qualify materials for embedded computing products.
- Build and refine thermal and mechanical models.
- Support failure analysis execution and methodology development.
- Document experiments and present your findings.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Coursework in materials fundamentals such as structure-property relationships and thermodynamics.
- Hands-on lab experience with methods like optical microscopy, sample preparation, and mechanical testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to creatively troubleshoot and a high level of attention to detail.
