About the role#
This New Product Development Engineering Co-Op position is based in Raynham, Massachusetts. You will work within the Shoulder Reconstruction R&D team at DePuy Synthes. The role involves supporting a multi-functional team through the design, conceptualization, and market introduction of shoulder reconstruction implants and associated technologies. You will be assigned a mentor to provide support throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Support product development activities, including implant and instrument design, test fixture design, and product testing.
- Write testing reports and lead design control documentation.
- Collaborate with surgeons in a cadaveric setting to assess device performance and gather feedback.
- Lead specific project tasks to drive product development and value creation initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, or Biomedical Engineering.
- A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.
- Proficiency in 3-D modeling, specifically NX Unigraphics or Solidworks.
- Experience using hand tools and performing mechanical testing.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to communicate technical information.
- Self-motivation with an interest in orthopedic medical devices and digital surgery techniques.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Previous co-op experience in R&D or manufacturing at a medical device company is preferred.

- Compensation: This is a paid position.
- Transportation: You must provide your own transportation as the site is not within walking distance of the train station.
