About the role#
This internship supports the federal team based at the Fort Myer military base in Arlington, Virginia. You will assist with project management and construction coordination tasks related to building mechanical systems and building automation and control systems. The role provides a structured work and training experience with a duration of 3 to 5 months.
What you'll do#
- Support project managers, engineers, and field teams with daily operations.
- Prepare project files, reports, customer presentations, and communication documents.
- Compile project documentation such as certificates of completion, training forms, and punch lists.
- Assist in the development of customer baselines, benchmarks, and project scheduling reports.
- Contribute to data collection for asset and mechanic systems, as well as financial task calculations and operational performance modeling.
- Support the preparation and rollout of mechanical and controls projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university with Sophomore status or higher as of fall 2026.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Construction Management, or Project Management.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Full U.S. citizenship, as the role involves handling sensitive government data for U.S. Government contracts.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in construction, energy efficiency, sustainability, or the HVAC industry.
Location & details#
- Location: Arlington, Virginia.
- Work Modality: On-site at the Fort Myer military base.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. You must be able to work at least 20 hours per week, with up to 40 hours per week available.
- Employment Type: Full-time internship.
