About the role#
This internship supports the federal team based at the Fort Myer military base in Arlington, Virginia. The role involves working with project managers, engineers, and field teams on building mechanical systems and building automation and control systems (BAS). Interns will gain experience in project coordination and construction management through a variety of operational and administrative tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support project managers, engineers, and field teams with daily tasks.
- Assist in preparing project files, reports, customer presentations, and communication documents.
- Develop customer baselines, benchmarks, and project scheduling reports.
- Contribute to data collection for asset and mechanic systems, including process or financial task calculations.
- Compile project documentation such as certificates of completion, customer training forms, and punch lists.
- Assist in the preparation and development of mechanical and controls projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Construction Management, or Project Management.
- Sophomore status or higher as of fall 2026.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Full U.S. citizenship is required due to the handling of sensitive government data for U.S. Government contracts.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in construction, energy efficiency, sustainability, or the HVAC industry.
Location & details#
- Location: Arlington, Virginia (On-site).
- Schedule: Must be able to work on-site at least 20 hours per week, with up to 40 hours available. Typical on-site hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
- Duration: Approximately 3 to 5 months.
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
