About the role#
This is a part-time student position based in Champaign, Illinois. You will work year-round alongside your academic schedule to support our data ecosystem. The role focuses on building and improving data analytics capabilities and web applications related to customer data and identity. You will contribute to foundational systems that enable data products across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve web applications and data analytics tools.
- Support foundational software systems and services.
- Enable data products for teams across the company.
- Collaborate with a development team to learn and implement new technologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited college or university.
- Pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later with a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Familiarity with Java, Python, and SQL.
- Experience or coursework in web application development.
- Understanding of core software engineering concepts like debugging, testing, version control, and APIs.
- Ability to commute to Champaign, IL.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Preferred skills include experience with the Spring Framework, PySpark, Extreme Programming (XP) practices, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Location & details#
- Location: Champaign, Illinois.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 16-20 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer.
- Compensation: $15 - $40 per hour.
