About the role#
This is a part-time student position within our Factory Engineering team in East Moline, Illinois. You will work alongside our full-time staff throughout the year to support welding operations. This role requires on-site attendance and is not available to students on immigration visas.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and analyze data to find the root cause of welding issues.
- Establish and maintain routings, pay standards, layouts, weld tooling, and control plans.
- Identify and implement improvements for cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomics.
- Use software systems including PDM, SAP, Wplanner/MPP, and Creo to perform engineering tasks.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technology discipline, with a preference for welding emphasis.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- A graduation date of Spring 2027 or later.
- Availability to work 16 to 20 hours per week during the school year and 30 to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Formal education or experience in engineering.
- Ability to communicate with union employees, engineers, and supervisors.
- Familiarity with Creo, AutoCAD, or similar modeling software.
