About the role#
As a part-time student in the Electrical Systems Engineering program at John Deere, you will support the design of complex electronic systems for Seeding and Tillage equipment. This role is designed to run year-round alongside your academic schedule, providing you with hands-on experience in product engineering and development.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical tasks to support the design of complex electronic systems.
- Assist in electrical system module activities for CI, PDP, or Value Stream projects to meet requirements.
- Collaborate with system engineers to ensure configurations and features are well-defined and requirements are established.
- Participate in problem-solving and the resolution of electrical issues for both new product development and current production.
- Create electrical design specifications for internal teams and suppliers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Availability to work 10-20 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer semester.
- Basic knowledge of electrical components and electrical systems design.
- Strong communication skills to interface effectively with engineers, cross-functional personnel, and suppliers.
- Ability to commute to the work location in Silvis, Illinois, on a regular basis.
