About the role#
As a part-time student in the Electrical Systems Engineering program at John Deere, you will support the design of complex electronic systems for Seeding and Tillage equipment. This role is designed for students to work year-round alongside their academic schedule, contributing to technical projects that improve customer efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical tasks to support the design of complex electronic systems.
- Assist with electrical system modules for CI, PDP, or Value Stream activities.
- Support system engineers in ensuring configurations and features are well-defined.
- Help resolve electrical issues encountered during new product development and current production.
- Create electrical design specifications for internal teams and suppliers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited university.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Availability to work 10-20 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer.
- Ability to commute to the Silvis, Illinois, work location on a regular basis.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
