About the role#
This is a paid, six-week remote internship for a Product Engineer. You will contribute to the data infrastructure of a public-sector technology platform. The role focuses on software engineering, web research, and data ingestion. You will gain experience building resilient software and managing data quality in a startup environment.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain data scrapers and ingestion pipelines for government sources.
- Research new data sources using internal tools and AI agents.
- Develop methods to collect and structure data from websites and APIs.
- Validate incoming data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Monitor existing sources to troubleshoot failures and improve scraper resilience.
- Investigate inconsistent websites and undocumented technical behaviors.
- Document extraction logic, source behavior, and data-quality checks.
- Use AI-assisted development tools while validating the generated output.
- Collaborate on various technical and operational initiatives.
What you'll need#
- You are a third- or fourth-year undergraduate student or a recent graduate.
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Python for data collection or analysis.
- Experience with web scraping tools like BeautifulSoup, Playwright, or Selenium.
- Comfort working with HTML, APIs, JSON, and CSV formats.
- Understanding of software fundamentals, debugging, and Git-based workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and clear technical writing skills.
- Curiosity about public-sector data and how unfamiliar systems function.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset.

- This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States.
- The internship is paid and lasts for six weeks.
