About the role#
As an Engineering Intern, you will support the finishing line engineer, finishing line coordinator, and maintenance team. You will work on projects aimed at improving operational reliability and efficiency. This 12-week paid internship provides hands-on experience with mechanical and electromechanical systems. You will collaborate with teams across Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Automation to deliver technical solutions.
What you'll do#
- Learn the finishing process and material flow.
- Analyze line efficiency, speed, delay, and product quality.
- Perform root-cause analysis for assigned technical needs.
- Collaborate with the line engineer to develop equipment or automation improvement concepts.
- Create models, drawings, design concepts, and implementation plans.
- Develop documentation and procedures to support the integration of proposed modifications.
- Provide biweekly progress presentations to the team.
- Deliver a final report and presentation that covers your problem statement, analysis, design documentation, and budget proposals.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Data analysis and creative problem-solving skills.
- CAD capability and a basic understanding of automation concepts.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and resourcefulness.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Sparks, Nevada.
- You must have reliable transportation to and from the work location.
- This is a full-time, on-site role for 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
