About the role#
This internship provides an introduction to transportation management at J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. You will work on-site in Akron, Ohio, during the Fall 2026 semester. This is a paid, part-time position requiring 20 to 25 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Learn the basics of transportation management principles.
- Assist with daily tasks like freight planning and asset utilization.
- Support safety management and DOT compliance efforts.
- Help with driver payroll, logistics analysis, and maintenance coordination.
- Gain insight into company initiatives regarding driver retention.
- Handle account-specific duties and other operational tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Ability to work 20 to 25 hours weekly during the school semester.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Capability to handle shifting priorities and adapt to changing work environments.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Junior or Senior academic standing is preferred.
