About the role#
ISAIAH is hiring a Climate Equity Policy Fellow for a 2-year program. This full-time position provides policy support and analysis while offering training, coaching, and mentorship. You will work under the direction of the Policy Director to build expertise in equitable climate and clean energy policy.
What you'll do#
- Support existing and developing programs related to climate and clean energy.
- Collaborate with state coalition partners to advance campaigns and policy solutions.
- Educate and build relationships with member-leaders, allies, and state partners.
- Monitor and track key legislation, including attending committee hearings and following bill progress.
- Facilitate meetings with community, business, and government leaders to support advocacy goals.
- Conduct research and write policy memos, testimony, and public communications.
- Develop toolkits, presentations, and case studies for partners.
- Participate in cohort meetings, retreats, and skills-based workshops.
What you'll need#
- Lived experience with frontline communities, including Black, Indigenous, people of color, and low-income or working-class backgrounds.
- A demonstrated commitment to racial, social, and environmental justice.
- Strong capacity for policy or legal analysis in both written and verbal formats.
- An understanding of community organizing and its role in public policy advocacy.
- A deep commitment to grassroots power-building.
- Relevant academic backgrounds such as Environmental Engineering, Political Science, Public Health, Sociology, Business Administration, Economics, Communications, or Nursing.
Location & details#
- This role is based in St Paul, Minnesota.
- Candidates must live in the Twin Cities metro area.
- The position is on-site and requires the ability to walk throughout the Capitol building and stand for long periods.
- The salary range is $65,000 to $75,000 per year with a comprehensive benefits package.

ISAIAH is a nonpartisan, congregation-based community organization founded in 2000. Based in Minneapolis, it serves the Twin Cities and St. Cloud regions of Minnesota. The group consists of ninety member congregations representing 175,000 individuals. It focuses on faith-based community organizing to promote racial and economic justice through leadership development.
