About the role#
ISAIAH is hiring a Southern Minnesota Congregational Organizing Fellow for a full-time, 6-month position. This role focuses on building relationships and developing leadership across race, class, and faith. You will work with a team of organizers to advance campaigns for racial, economic, and climate justice. This position requires availability for meetings and events during evenings and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Build relationships with staff and community leaders based on trust.
- Run an organizing program that engages leaders from 15-20 churches.
- Organize and expand the network of churches through canvassing, house meetings, and congregational forums.
- Recruit and train volunteer leaders to hold meetings with community members and elected officials.
- Lead public actions and meetings with elected leaders to advocate for dignity and affordability.
What you'll need#
- A valid driver's license and a reliable car.
- Experience working with diverse faith communities.
- Comfort using technology such as Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- A demonstrated commitment to social justice and the ability to articulate how this work connects to your personal motivations.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to build rapport with people from different backgrounds.
- Related coursework in fields such as Political Science, Sociology, Communications, Human Resources, Public Health, Business Administration, Psychology, or History.
