About the role#
Insulet Corporation is looking for a Sterilization and Microbiology Co-op to support our Global Sterility Assurance program. You will join the Sterilization and Microbiology group to help maintain laboratory equipment, manage microbiology test programs, and ensure the effectiveness of ethylene oxide sterilization processes.
What you'll do#
- Support the environmental monitoring program for manufacturing areas, including viable air, surface, and non-viable particulate testing.
- Manage product bioburden and bacterial endotoxin testing conducted by contract laboratories.
- Perform quality control testing, approval, and release of microbiological media.
- Operate standard laboratory equipment such as microplate readers, incubators, microscopes, particle counters, air samplers, and pipettes.
- Complete test records and documentation accurately and perform data entry.
- Assist in the generation and revision of procedures and work instructions for microbiology and sterility assurance.
- Support laboratory investigations, nonconformances, and CAPA activities related to microbiology and sterilization.
- Help with sterilization requalifications, test method validations, and equipment maintenance or calibration.
- Participate in departmental training and support internal and external quality audits.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience with aseptic technique.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal communication and technical writing capability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Interest in Ethylene Oxide sterilization is strongly preferred.
- Previous co-op experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and wear gowning materials in a controlled manufacturing environment.
