About the role#
Ingredion is hiring a Technical Account Representative Intern to join our Virtual Sales Team. This position offers hands-on experience in business development, customer engagement, and sales strategy. You will work within a large team of peers, receiving training and exposure to departments such as field sales, technical service, and research and development.
What you'll do#
- Interact directly with small and medium customers to provide ingredient recommendations for food and beverage applications.
- Manage customer accounts and develop new business opportunities.
- Support the sales team with prospecting, account research, pipeline tracking, and CRM management.
- Work across our product portfolio, including starches, plant-based proteins, sugar-reduction solutions, and hydrocolloids.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework, with status as a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and stay organized.
- Familiarity with experimental design, statistical data analysis, and result interpretation.
- Experience with hands-on food concept development using laboratory or pilot plant equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of food ingredient functionality, interactions, and common processes is preferred.
- Reliable transportation for daily travel to the facility.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
