About the role#
This summer internship offers a hands-on opportunity to join the Product Development and Food Design team in Bridgewater, New Jersey. You will focus on research related to plant-based proteins and co-products. Your work will contribute to product innovation, portfolio differentiation, and commercialization by characterizing ingredient functionality and supporting the development of predictive tools.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on prior art, including literature and patents, and review current technology.
- Perform laboratory experiments to investigate ingredient functionality and sensory performance.
- Analyze data, interpret results, and provide recommendations to the project team.
- Document all findings in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and other archiving databases.
- Coordinate and summarize experimental data for project partners.
- Present your final research findings and recommendations to management at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
- Progress toward a degree in food science, chemistry, or chemical engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework.
- Previous laboratory research experience.
- Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to the facility.
