About the role#
This internship is a summer 2027 opportunity within the Customer Innovation team at our Bridgewater, New Jersey facility. You will support the Differentiated Services Program by developing new products and creating solutions for customers. The role involves taking concepts from the lab to the food pilot plant to produce high-quality prototypes. You will work under the guidance of a manager to conduct research, perform analytical testing, and document your findings.
What you'll do#
- Manage projects to meet specific timelines and deliverables.
- Analyze data, results, and scientific literature to advance your work.
- Identify formulation challenges and develop solutions in collaboration with internal teams.
- Scale up lab-scale concepts in the food pilot plant.
- Present prototypes, project status updates, and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Compose technical reports and presentations to communicate findings.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following GMP and safety guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior.
- Experience with hands-on food concept development using laboratory or pilot plant equipment.
- Knowledge of common food processes, ingredient functionality, and ingredient interactions.
- Familiarity with experimental design, statistical analysis, and the interpretation of results.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and planning skills.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
