About the role#
This summer internship offers hands-on experience with the education and engagement team at Indiana Farm Bureau. You will work approximately 37.5 hours per week at our downtown Indianapolis headquarters from mid-May to mid-August 2027. This is a paid, part-time position with an hourly wage of $17.00.
What you'll do#
- Support programs that help students and the public understand modern agriculture.
- Research agriculture-accurate books for elementary students.
- Create educational materials for teachers and volunteers.
- Prepare and lead lessons for AITC summer workshops.
- Develop content to improve specific Indiana agriculture lessons and kits.
- Teach lessons to students at the Felege Hiywot Center.
- Assist staff and member volunteers during the Indiana State Fair, Taste from Indiana Farms, and the Young Farmers & Ag Professionals planning meeting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in college.
- Pursuit of a degree in agricultural education or agricultural communications.
- An agricultural background.
- Experience preparing lessons or activities for middle and high school students.
- Ability to set clear goals and objectives for your projects.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and self-motivation.
- Familiarity with Indiana academic standards.
